Planning Training - What is Involved?

Training and supporting acquisition of needed job skills is a key role of the ES. It is also one that is largely misunderstood. It requires a great deal of planning, evaluation, and skill. In my experience, many ESs show up at the new job the first day and are pretty much operating by the seat of their pants. Being really effective requires a different role designed to avoid some of the problems we are discussing under other forum topics, and that requires forethought. So... When should a training plan be developed? What is the foundation of a training plan? What are the critical considerations and elements of a training plan? What is the utility of a training plan? What is included in a training plan?

Training

Hello,I agree training and supporting acquisition of needed job skills is a key role of the ES. Training should be planned to make the training process more effective for the person reciving the training and the person giving the training. In most cases I belevie the training should be developed right after conducting an intake. Where the ES has enough informaiton about the individual and will be able to offer a productive training, depending on what the individual will need training on.

I agree, the more you know

I agree, the more you know about and understand the job, the better you are able to train someone else. In past experience with job coaching it is important to the individual for you to be involve and not to expect them do do a job that you would not do yourself. They are  peole and should be treated with dignity  respect, as any of us should . They are no different than us, maybe just need a little more patients with training and more time.

Planning Training - What is Involved?

Initially it is better to start off understanding all the skills and abilities that are already highly developed so that we can focus on the skills that need more attention to improve. It is important to let the individual know what you hope for them to learn and take away once the training is over. We want to develop a plan with goals and objectives for the indiviual to reach during the process of the training. Lastly, you may need to test out a variety of techniques and learning styles to see how the individual can sucessfully suceed in training.

i think it would be hard to

i think it would be hard to plan something if you are not sure what workd best. i think that figuring out task required and then making a plan would be best.

I totally agree. A training

I totally agree. A training plan should be set in place after the tasks for the person have been figured out. By being able to support the person in making sure the job is done effectively. Make sure to take into account how the person learns.

 I also agree with Kayla

I also agree with Kayla Petrey. Training can be done before but planning sometimes has to comew from knowlege and experience. You can plan around certain situations and then those situations never happen or come into play the way you plan. I think its best to plan once you know what is expected and go from there.

ES should discuss with the

ES should discuss with the employer about their job expectation, do's and don'ts, a day-to-day operation of the business, and about training strategies planned based on skills and abilities of the supported employee.  This would allow employer to know what to be expected.  Training plan should be developed once the position was secured.  The plan should based on business needs and employee abilities.  Communication between ES, suppported employee, and the employer is the key element for successful employment.  Training plan should be modified as the employee makes progress.

A good plan begins by knowing what are the expectations of the indidvidual and working with the employer to get adquete traing for my individual Im coaching. You also need to know all the background and capabilities of the individual you are supporting at the new job. The most important skill is working closely with the employer/supervisor on a great training and orienation process. An last but not least always encourage and check in with the individual to make sure all is going well till the fading process is complete if this is a future option depending on the individuals' coaching status.

Doing your homework is

Doing your homework is critical to forming a plan. This also should be in place before the client goes to work on the first day. Everything should be worked out and cleared with the supervisor before work begins. The regular policy of the business concerning training and correction and discipline must be taken into account.

Know the person

I like Kayla Petrey's answer. To know what will work best for the employer and employee, you'll have to know the needs and expectations of both. Get as comprehensive as you can. It seems like the goal of an ES is to employ the person, so it's important to know them first before developing a training plan for a specific job.

Plan Training-What is involved?

I think that pre planning is key to any successful job placement. If you get a knowledge of what the job tasks are and how others perform the same job and are there any modifications needed to be made so that your person served can perform the taks with no problem. It gives you the opportunity to to be prepared when you show up on the first day versus flying by the seat of your pants.

More than the skills, it

More than the skills, it should involve attitude and personality. You must be willing to be trained and they can see how dedicated you are. Just like the employees working on

paper writing services reviews. They were trained to be the best. They started like a child who is willing to be trained so much.

I agree with you!

In order to become the best, you need to constantly train your skills. It's never too late to learn new things. This PaperCoach reviews site is independent, and it was created for students who are looking for a reliable academic helper. They can read reviews from other learners and know more about the price policy, discounts, and special offers from PaperCoach.net.

Training

I believe some training can be done beforehand, however, as a previous commenter mentioned, a good plan comes from knowing the individual, the job, and what is expected from them. I think an effective plan can be formed before stepping into the role - you can predict how things will go based on information. However, to perfect that plan you may need practical experience on the job sight. The more of that you have, the more you can predict possible situations, good or bad, which may arise. You can learn the individual you are supporting and what works best for them in particular, as everybody works and learns differently.

I believe when you create a

I believe when you create a job plan, you have to understand the job and the individual before you come up with a training plan. Once you indentify the indivual's strengh and weaknesses, you need to be familiar with the environment. Ask the employer and co-worker questions and work with them so you can come up with a solid foundation for your plan. Creating a job plan becomes easier when you put in the time to review the work place and get familiar with the task.

A good piece of advice is to

A good piece of advice is to never ask one of your employees to do a job that you would not do, so understanding what that task entails is important. I believe that as an ES it is pertinent to know what is expected, before you can expect someone else to. By allowing the time to do the research and revising the plan you design for each indidivual situation is key.

A training plan should begin

A training plan should begin after the tasks the person supported will be doing are determined. the foundation of the training plan is making sure the person supported is able to do said tasks effective and efficiate. you shoiuld always consider the ways the individual learns best and was accomidations or modifications need to take place,or what, if any, promtes, cues, or reinforcers need to take place as well.included in the traing plan will be the ways to train, who will be training, and how they will be trained.
